Christmas holiday season is always hectic. The excitement is high and you try to do several things together. There is so much to do, plan for special dinners, and get together shop for gifts, decorate the Christmas dinner and a lot more. The frenzy doesn’t end with Christmas. There is still a lot more to do after festive season is over. You have a lots of chores and cleaning tasks staring in your face and the holidays are almost over. However, there is no need to panic, as with a little planning and the time management strategies, cleaning up after the Christmas would be like a breeze. All you need is some careful though and planning.
Once the festive season is over and life slowly gets back to normal, most houses find themselves in a mess. After all, one has to bring down all the decorations and store them carefully. It is a good idea to make a list of to do things and involve everyone in the house to help you out, even the kids. You can divide the tasks and just be careful that the little kids are given the tasks that suit their capabilities. The older kids can be given some of the more responsible tasks.
First, start with the Christmas Decorations. Those small decorations like stars, lightings. Christmas balls, etc. should be carefully folded and stored away. Make sure to keep them away from pets and small children. Be wary of these pine needles that may have fallen from your real Christmas tree. It is essential to get rid of them first as kids and pets can easily get them in their mouth.
The older kids can help you with taking those decorations off. Assign the task of removing those with one and let the other one do the sorting and put them away in the boxes. This will make the work much organized and more fun. Next, take care of the special cutlery you took out for the festive season. Wash and clan them carefully and wipe them dry before storing them away. Some of these are actually decorated in. Many people like to use Christmas themed curtains. Bring them down, wash them or get them dry-cleaned and keep them safe until the next season when Santa Claus arrives.
Christmas time need not be the season of stress, especially for the working people, who feel that there is too little time and just so many things to do. Honestly, there is more work after the festivities are over. Just wear a good attitude and avoid grumbling as you take care of all those decorations, removing them, managing the house and the kids and setting the kitchen back to normal.
When it is all over, take a moment out and just be thankful. You have just had a wonderful Christmas with your family and send a small prayer for the festivities to be as gay and joyous the next year. Get your family together and share your Christmas experience.
