It is not common for children to come home very hungry and rummaging through the kitchen for some snacks to satisfy their hunger pangs. We have come up with a list of snack ideas that are easy to make and tasty to eat.
1. Sweet Bagel Chips
Get some bagels and slice them lengthwise. Brush a little butter on the slice and sprinkle some sugar on top. Now bake these slices for about 10 minutes before serving.
2. Sesame Potato Chips
Preheat the oven and thinly slice some potatoes. Brush these slices with some oil and sprinkle some slat and sesame seeds on top of these slices. Bake for about ten minutes and serve them to your children who will finish them in no time.
3. Pita Nachos
Split pita bread into 2 rounds and then cut them into smaller wedges. Now broil them until they are golden. Get them out and sprinkle cheddar while the pita bread is still hot. Add some salsa and broil it again to melt the cheese.
4. Caramel Popcorn
Mix some butter, honey and salt and melt it a little. Now toss this with some popcorn and pecans and spread the entire mixture onto a baking sheet and put it in the oven for 15 minutes while stirring them in between. The result is a delicious treat.
5. Mango Salsa Scoops
Mix some black beans, chopped red onion and some diced mango. To this now add some jalapenos with a little liquid from the jar along with some lime juice and cilantro. Now toss all of these together and serve with some tortilla scoops.
6. Bean Roll Ups
Take some flour tortilla and spread some bean dip on top of it along with cheddar. Now roll it up and brush some oil on top and bake it for 10 minutes. Serve it hot with some salsa.
7. Crackerwiches
Take a saltine and spread some peanut butter on top of it. Now keep a slice of your preferred fruit on top of it, drizzle some honey and top it off with another saltine.
8. Pretzel Melts
Take some mini pretzels and put small slices of cheddar between them. Now bake it for about 10 minutes or until the cheese melts. You are bound to run out of these in no time.
9. Banana Chips
Slice some bananas and line them on top of a baking sheet. Now sprinkle some salt on top of it and bake it until it crisps up. Get the tray out of the over and allow it to cool and harden before serving them.
10. Pomegranate Slushies
Blend together ice, a little honey and pomegranate juice until it is thick and slushy. Now pour it out into glasses and top it over with some more juice if you like. This is a healthy yet tasty snacking choice.
